Meet Andrea

Andrea playing bass guitar on stage

“Nobody thought bass was cool…”

Andrea Morse is a lifelong musician whose passion for sound began early. After formal training starting at age ten, she studied drums, guitar, and violin throughout her school years. But at sixteen, out of pure necessity, she found her true voice on bass.

As Andrea puts it:
“Nobody thought bass was cool. So I de-tuned my guitar a couple steps and did what I could until I spent 35 bucks on my first bass.”

What began as improvisation quickly became devotion. Once focused on bass, Andrea’s curiosity expanded beyond performance into the world of recording and sound design. Armed with a small mixing console and two cassette decks, she spent years creating experimental recordings and sonic landscapes with her brother and fellow musicians in her New York hometown -  laying the foundation for a career that would seamlessly blend stage and studio.

By her late teens, Andrea had become a fixture in the New York music scene, performing in both cover and original projects throughout the metro area. From neighborhood venues to legendary city clubs, she thrived on live performance while deepening her commitment to writing and collaboration.

From broadcast production to Studio A

In her twenties, Andrea transitioned into radio, which led to nearly five years as an independent voice-over talent, jingle writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Her work during this period earned multiple Addy Awards and fueled a series of ambitious projects that united her love of technology with live performance -  including a podcast she co-produced that received “Best Of” honors during its three-year run.

Since 2015, Andrea has operated out of her own facility, Studio A — a thoughtfully designed digital studio created in collaboration with respected audio consultant and engineer Michael Cirile. There, she works with original artists as a producer, engineer, and player, offering a space built for creativity, precision, and collaboration. She continues to perform regularly throughout the St. Louis region, showcasing a wide range of writing and performance styles as both bassist and guitarist.

In 2019, Andrea joined the National Blues Museum as a member of the house band and remains actively involved in supporting and preserving the blues tradition.

Andrea has led and contributed to a number of distinctive musical projects. Forever Dreams explores immersive sonic landscapes, ranging from delicate piano-driven compositions to guitar-centered anthems - always anchored by her melodic bass sensibility and rhythmic depth. Sisters Magnolia & The Weeds features Andrea as primary writer, bandleader, and second guitarist, delivering a modern take on California country infused with a confident rock edge.

Andrea’s most recent project is the King-Morse Project, where she takes on the role of producer and performs most of the instruments on the recordings. She also collaborates with a variety of local artists at Studio A.
